I'm a school social worker who is also a newlywed (and had a Big Fat Greek Wedding, no less!) living in Chicago. I am starting this blog to talk about the training process I will go through to prepare for the Chicago Marathon, while also raising awareness for Ceasefire, a Chicago anti-violence program.
Follow me as I train for my fourth marathon!
*** Please note that I am off work from June through August, thus I have a lot more time to spend at the gym than usual :)
Week 1
Monday: 6 mile run + pilates
Tuesday:1 hr, 40 mins cardio mix
Wednesday: 3 mile run + 1 hr walk + 60 min yoga
Thursday: 45 min walk
Friday: rest (on vacation)
Saturday: 2 mile run
Sunday: rest (on vacation)
Week 2
Monday: 6 mile run + pilates
Tuesday: 1 hr cardio mix
Wednesday: 60 min yoga + 20 min walk
Thursday: 3 mile run + 75 min walk
Friday: 90 min cardio mix
Saturday: 7 mile run
Sunday: 60 min yoga + 1 hr cardio
Week 3
Monday: spinning + 40 min walk
Tuesday: 3 mile run + 1 hr walk
Wednesday: spinning + 40 min walk
Thursday: 4 mile run
Friday: rest
Saturday: 5 mile run
Sunday: 60 min yoga + 40 min walk
Week 4
Monday: spinning + 1 hr, 40 min walk
Tuesday: 4 mile run + 2 mile walk
Wednesday: spinning + 40 min walk
Thursday: 1 hr, 20 min cardio mix
Friday: rest
Saturday: 9 mile run
Sunday: 75 min hot yoga
Week 5
Monday: spinning + yoga sculpt
Tuesday: 5 mile run + 1 mile walk + 75 min hot yoga
Wednesday: spinning + 60 min yoga
Thursday: 3 mile run + 3 mile walk + yoga
Friday: rest
Saturday: 10 mile run
Sunday: 60 min yoga + 90 min cardio mix + 20 min bike

Wednesday: spinning + 1 hr cardio mix + 60 min yoga
Thursday: 3 mile run + 3 mile walk
